One of the sought after patch changes that Cabalists look forward to is the Soul Ability. It can be thought of as a character's Battle Mode 3 (BM3) since it will also increase one's abilities and attributes.
Soul Ability will only be available for level 120 characters and above. There is a conversion rate between experience earned and soul experience earned – only on level 170 will the rate be 1:1, so for every experience point you earn you will earn one soul ability experience point (AXP). Pointing this out, it means it will go faster to gain some soul experience points the higher level you are. Soul experience points will turn into Ability Points (AP), with 1 AP being equal to 10 million AXP. You then use this AP to equip Essence Runes – they drop from mobs. You can only equip one Essence Rune of each kind, so if you have equipped a Defense Rate Essence Rune you cannot equip another Defense Rate Essence Rune. There are 26 different kinds of Essence Runes, and you can equip 13 of these at most. Different Essence Runes also consume different amounts of AP when you equip them.
The Essence Runes are divided into 9 categories, according to the level that the character needs to be to equip them. The first ones start at level 120, and the highest ones can be equipped at level 144. The basic ones will use very little AP, the highest level ones will use a fair amount, and you will also need some cores to equip them.

Attributes once equipped
There are 26 runes, you can pick 13 of them, if you can find the Essence Rune of course, and then you can spend your hard-earned AP to level these Soul Abilities.
500 AP is the limit that you can have at one time, once you use let us say 240 AP to equip the Essence Rune for the HP Absorb Increase you will be left with 260 AP (500-240), and now you can start levelling your AP all over again, up to 500. So the better option of the two proposed was the correct one, 500 AP is the maximum, use some, then level up to 500 again.
On to minimum damage. This was simply clarified to mean that the melee classes will now have the same minimum damage calculation as the Wizards and Force Archers. This is also with regards to normal gameplay, and not a specific instance such as the Mission War, so this applies everywhere in-game.
