Porta Inferno: In A Nutshell

Porta Inferno itself is a dark, gloomy map, reminiscent of the Volcanic Citadel. There is a lot of what appears to be once-grand architecture, fallen into ruin, and the map switches between rough rock and smooth walkways towards the center, before winding through narrow paths towards the last two bosses. In terms of the lore of CABAL Porta Inferno is one version of Hell itself, and the mobs reflect this. Demons, fallen souls, and other horrors lurk in shadows, while skeletal dragons soar overhead. The bosses are... interesting, especially the really big last boss. Best to take a couple of friends with you if you feel like going for a couple of rounds with Minisha.

The main attraction of the new map would, however, be the chance to get a couple of the new skillbooks. They all drop here, and there will be a lot of people aiming for 180, so the supply should not be too bad.

Chaos Arena has been revamped and improved as well. It now becomes just another dungeon, which means you can enter it at any time, and the maximum number of people is limited to 7. This also means that you can go on any channel, and you do not have to deal with guild-claimed channels any more. Some people will, of course, be rather unhappy at this, There is also no death limit in the new Chaos Arena, as you will simply resurrect at the starting point again if you die. You will, however have to break the gate again, but the gates have been modified as well so it should not take too long to destroy it. The time in Chaos Arena has been taken down to 20 minutes instead of 25, but that is not too big a change either, since you won’t waste 5 minutes breaking the gate at the start of it. The other big change is that the mobs no longer drop huge amounts of cores, but Alz only. There is one chest at the end of the dungeon, once you kill the boss (Chaotic Leth Tyrant for the level 6 CA, if anyone was curious) and this chest will drop several items, including (but not limited to) the beloved force cores.

CABAL is now also dabbling with social media, as you can use Twitter from inside the game itself. The process if fairly simply, you simply open the Twitter menu (Cabal --> Community --> Twitter) enter your Twitter account details, and post your message. We will most likely make use of this on the next update as well, so look out for that.

The other parts of the update are fairly self-explanatory. The Mission War levels will change, and there will now be only Bringer per war, as the whole system of Guardians is being removed. The Bringer will be the person scoring the most points, regardless of class. Your score will also change the rewards you get, and the higher you score the better. There are also several minor bug-fixes for the Mission War being applied with this patch, which will be listed with the patch notes.

The other minor change that will be obvious almost immediately is that if you click on a person’s name in the chat, you now get a small menu with three functions ‘whisper, party, buddy’.

The Philippines will enter the Gates of Hell next week, October 14. The Thursday maintenance will be extended until 6 PM in preparation for the new patch.
