Illusion Castle's Surprises

Cabal KR has just updated their webpage with more tasty droolable Illusion Castle updates.

CAbal Reloaded Re-Explained

ESTsoft have decided to focus more on fixing and updating some of the oldest parts of the game rather than introducing masses of new content, so the name Cabal Online: Reloaded is particularly fitting. A big part of the update is also focused on improving the game for the new players, or for players making new characters, while at the same time setting it up for more challenging high-level content in the future.

Runes of Magic: A World of Warcraft Clone?

Runes of Magic is a free massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by the Taiwanese developer Runewaker Entertainment and adapted for the English and German speaking market by German company Frogster Interactive. After going through an open beta phase, the game was launched on 19 March, 2009 and Chapter II - The Elven Prophecy was launched on 15 September, 2009 in the US. The game client is free to download.

Players create a character from one of eight character classes, such as warrior, rogue or priest, and explore the fantasy world of Taborea while undertaking quests and fighting enemies. Characters can create items by practicing their crafting skills, avoiding combat altogether if the player wishes to play non-violently. Upon reaching character level 10 players are able to choose a secondary character class to increase their character's abilities. Core abilities from the secondary class are usable when the player remains in their primary class and vice versa, for instance a warrior with a mage secondary class is able to cast attack magic while still equipped with warriors' more effective armor. Runes of Magic currently features more than 2000 quests for players to attempt. Players may swap between classes by speaking with the housekeeper which lives in their accommodation, each player has their own private dwelling. Each character's home functions as a meeting place where other players can be invited. Additionally it serves as a visual demonstration of their progress within the game since it increases in size as character levels are gained.

Runes of Magic has been compared to World of Warcraft and also referred to as a clone, but Eurogamer's Daniel Etherington discounted this and stated the view "misses the point." Etherington stated that World of Warcraft "was a success because of how well it built on MMO conventions, how it refined them", adding it was unsurprising that World of Warcraft is so influential "but conversely it's got no great claim on gameworlds defined by cod-medievalism and pick-and-mix mythology". Wesley Yin-Poole of stated "The guys at Runewaker have clearly constructed Runes of Magic with World of Warcraft running in the background." He stated that despite being "somewhat of a WoW clone" and free-to-play, Runes of Magic contains elements which World of Warcraft does not, and that the latter's developers "would do well to consider." Online gaming website Massively's Shawn Schuster highlighted the range of crafting abilities in the game, as well as the ability to gain proficiency in them all without penalties.

Or is it really a clone to WoW?

Runes of Magic: A Look at Each Character Class

Runes of Magic PH, published in the Philippines by E-Games, has just gone into alpha testing. Player testers were chosen from a multitude of eager gamers who registered in order to be able to have the chance of becoming one of the few who can experience the thrill of RoM PH first-hand.

Runes of Magic offers a good variety of classes, allowing for players to choose between the four standard archetypes of tank, healer, melee and ranged DPS with more than just a single selection for each. While the number of choices is hardly groundbreaking, it still gives players a chance to broaden their play style with some measure of nuance, and with the dual class system at level ten, the choices become even less pedestrian. Runes of Magic features eight character classes – The Warrior, The Scout, The Rogue, The Mage, The Priest, The Knight, The Warden and The Druid. We will take a look at each class and examine their strengths and weaknesses to help you determine which is right for you.

Cabal Siena The Queen Story Teaser 3

Here is the conclusion to the amazing story behind the upcoming patch for the Philippines' top MMORPG, Cabal - Siena the Queen.

Maku Sha's charge towards us stopped abruptly, shadows lifting up from the cracked stone floor, weaving through and around those huge legs. The beast roared at us, a loud, animal noise that had nothing in common with the speech that came from its mouth only moments before.

"It will not hold for long." The Force Blader spoke, and I thought I detected the tiniest amount of strain in his voice. "I really suggest we take care of this as fast as we can." He stepped past me and the Warrior, his left hand moving through the forms of binding and weakening. I've encountered those before, on the field of battle, and barely escaped with my life. I remember that terrible weakness, my blades suddenly almost too heavy to lift, unable to move...

I hate these guys...

Cabal's expansion patch, Siena the Queen, boasts of two new dungeons for Cabalists to explore: Panic Cave and Altar of Siena B2F.

The Panic Cave is a 20-minute dungeon with three difficulty levels to choose from, based on your character' level. On the other hand, Altar of Siena B2F is the harder version of the already released Altar of Siena B1F.

Cabal: Siena the Queen Story Teaser Part 2

The momentary coldness of the gate was enough to make me shiver slightly, after the damp humidity of the Mutant Forest, and I was almost grateful for it, rather the cold than that godawful humid heat. My relief was very short-lived, as I emerged from the gate to find the area on the other side even worse than the outside. The first thing that struck me was the smell, a cloying, sickly-sweet stench that made it hard to breathe, and I heard one of my companions gasp as they entered through the gate behind me. The room was eerily silent, not even the slightest rustling or far-off noises that was the constant background sounds of the Mutant Forest.

My eyes took a moment to adapt to the gloom, and it became apparent that I was standing in a large room, rather than a cave, a broken-down, collapsed room, covered with twisted plant-growth and illuminated by whatever the hell was growing on the broken walls, but a room nonetheless.

What happened to the builders? Victims of the Great Destruction... This ruin was supposed to be a temple, but how long ago, and dedicated to what...

Blade and Soul: What Makes It Stand Out

The game Blade & Soul had gained worldwide praise when it was unveilled by NCsoft 3 months ago. Recently NCsoft releases a new record for players, and schedules to launch it in 2009.

What makes Blade and Soul stand out from other games in its genre is its unique art style and its combat focus. Many MMORPGs have a medieval style, and focus heavily on Norse-type mythologies; dwarfs, elves, fairies, swords and sorcery, etc.

Blade and Soul models it's characters from artwork by renowned Korean manhwa artist Hyung-tae Kim, whose Asian flair is prominent throughout his work. Blade and Soul, embracing this flair, focuses on Asian martial-arts and fantasy instead of European, making for pleasantly unique and exciting visuals.

Cabal: Altar of Siena B1F Dungeon Guide

Here is the Altar of Siena B1F guide that I promised everyone.

The entrance for Altar of Sienna is located in Mutant Forest (MF) right where the MF Grocer is located. Once you have the entry item in your inventory, you will see a warp. When you are ready go inside it.

When you warp in you will instantly see a tiny little person. Click on the tiny little person to activate quest.
Tip: Before clicking on the tiny little person, make sure your party is fully buffed and in bm2 and aura with trans.

After you activate the quest, Glutto will appear. Defeat him!
Tip: BM2 and Aura with trans and debuff--panic cry, field of fear, hardluck, etc

Once you defeat Glutto, continue on. You will reach a warp, go inside it. It will warp you to the next room. Continue straight and you will see another tiny little person. Click on him to start the quest.

After clicking on the tiny person, go back the opposite way you came from and make a left. After you make a left, look for this chest. Once you found it, click on it.

After clicking on the chest, go back to the tiny person and on his right you will see this tomb which is the Ominous Altar you are looking for. Click it.

After clicking on the Ominous Altar, go to that same tiny little person and click on him to finish the quest.

Once you're done and have recieved your gem, continue along the path. You will see some stairs, go up it and you will see the boss named Zealru. Defeat him!
Tip: BM2 first and extended later on. The reason is because this boss, Zealru, teleports. So don't waste your full power on him because he will teleport a lot.

After you defeated Zealru, continue forward. Go down the stairs and proceed through all the mobs. Once you get to the end, you will see another tiny little person. Before clicking on him, make sure your team is fully buffed and in bm2 and aura with trans. Activate quest when your team is ready.

Defeat Angelo! Be quick when trying to kill this boss, if you are too slow he will "1 hit you" in addition he can go Art of Defense (AOD) for 5mins. Please note all bosses can go AOD.
Tip: Tankers in front of him to aggro, and the rangers directly behind him with good distance. After your full power is out, retreat directly behind him and hug the wall. Wait for BM2 again and attack together. Tankers take one side and rangers take the other, do not attack together in the same direction.

After you defeat Angelo, continue on to a room where you see four of these statues. On the left side, as you come in, click on this statue (Effigy of Jealousy) first.

Then click on the one next statue (Statue of Voracity) to it.

Then go click on the first statue (Effigy of Jeolousy) one again.

Afterwards, directly across it, click on that statue (Statue of Wrath).

Now, once you click on the statue head back out and find this red ball (Shining Sid). Once you find it, click on it.
Tip: As you are leaving that small room with the statues, make a left turn and you should see it around there.

After clicking on the red ball, continue back the direction you came from and keep going till you reach a dead end. You will see this wall, click on it.

Then going back the direction you came from, near the room where the statues are at, find this Brazier and click on it.

After click on the Brazier, go to the red ball (Shining Sid) once again and click on it.

Now then, go back to the statue room and click on the final statue (Statue of Greed) to activate quest. Once you activate it, you will have to defeat 2 bosses. One of the left and one of the right.
Tip: Before clicking on the final statue, make sure everyone is buffed and in bm2. Immediately after you activate quest, run up the stairs and pass the boss on the right side. You want to pass him and go to the other room. In that room, go full trans and kill the tree boss.

Defeat Tree Boss! (This image is not the image of the tree boss, this is of Greedir, who is the other one. I apparently did not take a picture of the tree boss, I apologize.)
Tip: If your BM2 alone cannot defeat him, extend with aura. After you defeat him back out of the room and wait for BM2 again. Again make sure party is buffed.

After defeating the Tree Boss, defeat Greedir! Defeat him quickly or he will AOD for 5 mins.
Tip: Go full power again, BM2 and Aura with trans and full debuffs. Make sure tankers are attacking him from the behind, and rangers at the front.

After defeating Greedir, continue on. You will come to a warp. Go inside it and it will warp you to the next room. Follow it all the way through and you will come to this statue (Contaminated Waterway). Click on the statue to activate the quest.

Now head backwards to the warp you entered in from and click on this Old Altar.

After clicking on the altar, head back to the statue (Contaminated Waterway) and click it again to activate quest. Warning alot of mobs will appear!
Tip: Before clicking on it make sure everyone is buffed and go Bm2 or Bm1 whichever you prefer for Area of Effect. Once activated kill all the mobs. Afterwards, continue forward into the pool to fight the "fish boss, Lazine".

Defeat Lazine! Kill him quick, if your team is too slow, he will AOD for 5mins.

After you defeated Lazine, continue forward and immediately on your left, as you exit out of the pool, you will see a statue. When you are ready click on it to activate quest for final boss.
Tip: Have your team go BM2 when you activate it and when you get to the final boss, Centrion Prideus, extend and trans with full debuffs.

Defeat Centrion Prideus!

After you defeat Centrion Prideus, continue on and finish the quest by clicking on the red ball (Gem Sid).
