Dragon Nest Engineer Skill Build

The Academic is the latest character on Dragon Nest Sea, this lively youngster, Academic has way in to the most cutting-edge future tech weaponry, giving her devastating weapons. At level 15, she can decide to develop her skills and specializing on her 2nd job which is either to become an Engineer or an Alchemist.

This post is dedicated to those who want to choose the path of an Engineer. The Engineer is a range battle type class that uses her weaponry to crush her enemies with mechanical constructs and raw explosive power. Summoning mechanical robots Alfredo and Mechaducks to dish out independent attacks are her abilities.

Of all the skill builds I have seen, I chose the Shooting Star type. This build is considered a hybrid build which can be do well in nests (SDN/GDN) and also ladder/Group PVP.

ACADEMIC:

Get Stun Grenade, Wax and all important passive skills (HP, MP, MP regen, Aerial Evasion & Tumble.

Quick Shoot
Best CD with 4.5 sec only. Only set for prerequisite level. Is a good DPS skill but really don't have time to continuously spam this skill in actual situation. Not really recommended to max it.

Air Shoot, Napalm Grenade
Prerequisite level only to get stun grenade.

Stun Grenade
10 seconds CD with 70% to stun targets. Compulsory skill in PVP mode due to stun effect, without this skill you can't disabled your opponent quick enough or to continue chain your skills.

Wax Recommended to max this skill. Extremely useful in nests especially GDN. A minus CD plate also recommended (in Green Dragon stage, Wax is so important to whole party, without wax will lead to whole party wipe-out by AOE skills.

Summon Alfredo/ Recall Alfredo
Summon and Recall your Alfredo, nothing much to explain further.

Tumble/ Aerial Evasion Max Tumble, level 4 for Aerial Evasion, very important dodging skills in PVP.

Circle Bomb
Get this skill, it creates explosion around you and stand up immediately.

Physical Mastery/ Mental Mastery/ Mental Training
Recommended to MAX all, no harm to have higher HP/MP or MP regen.

Vending Machine Free of SP.

ENGINEER:

As compare to my previous build, I didn't get any duck skills. But when comes to Group PVP or in ladder, the ducks are quite useful. So had reset my build with Duck + Lighting shocks support. To have more damages, skills like Ping Pong and Ice Pump Tower should be max. Gatling Tower also a good DPS skill but it's quite useless in PVP. So, it's depend on personal preference.

Rocket Jump
Good evation skill and can escape from threads. Also compulsory skill in ladder mode. (Used to jump out of merc's typhoon before).

Fake Bomb
Not as useful imo.

Gravity Grenade Recommended to add at least 1 for combo hits. Combine with Stun Grenade, both skills can lock-on opponent in PVP.
(Use stun grenade to stun down your opponent, summon towers or PingPong/Bio-missle. Then when opponent going to stand up, continue lock him down with gravity grenade, cast ultimate or mine thrower, then continue cast 1-2 more skills and repeat stun grenade. This will mostly kill your opponent in 2-3 rounds).

Demolition Skills Tree:
Main damage output tree for Shooting Star.

Ping Pong Bomb
Required 11 levels for shooting star, recommended to MAX it and it has huge damage with EX. In group PVP, you only need to stay back and keep spam this skills for kills.

Mine Thrower
This skill has small AOE but intense damages. Great for big target but need a medium distance of ~3-4 meters away to cast this skill. Can use gravity grenade to gather mobs before cast this skill to maximize damages.

Chemical Missile
Good de-buff skill to reduce elemental defences by 15% & critical resist by 50% for 20 seconds. Has great damage too. Get level4 only to unlock ultimate, due to it’s long CD, wise to invest the limited SP to PingPong, Gatling Tower & Ice Pump Tower.

Alfredo Stomp, Alfredo Berserker
Both level 2 as prerequisite. (Alfredo sometimes really not reliable, always running different direction with me….)

Damage Transition Absorb 48% damage from party members for 35 seconds! Recommend to MAX it, very useful in hard-core nests to absorb damages for party members (Bishop Hell Stage 2 Mushroom Explosion, Stage 4 Punisher AOE skills, GDN).

Alfredo Whirlwind
Alfredo “Show-off” skill and have highest damage stats. Some peoples will max this skill but for me, not rely too much on Alfredo’s AI.

Demolition
Shooting star ultimate, very high damage especially on dungeon BOSS. However, 7.5 seconds of immobilization while using this skill will be very dangerous especially in hardcore nests. (That’s why I chose 2 Ultimate, can use both depending on situation)
Note: Both ultimate share same CD.

Skyline Skills Tree:
Mainly to get towers support to maximize shooting star's DPS.

GatlingTower
Awesome damage plus good cool downs. But in PVP, it did plenty of damages and high trigger chance of opponents' heal suffixes. Not really useful in PVP especially against cleric class.

Cannon Tower
Get level 3 to unlock Ice Pump Tower. Not a good skill but can use it as supportive.

Ice PumpTower
Another good damage tower that can slow your enemy targets (on nest bosses). I maxed it for insane supportive damages. In ladder mode try to cast it when you plan your attack moves. It will help to slow down + high damage to your target.

Additional Note: You can only summon 3 towers regardless of type.

Mecha Ducks
Summons stupid ducks. I use this skill as supportive.

Mecha Shocks
Enable mecha ducks to cast shocks on enemies. Good in PVP as it will delay your target for ~1s.

Skyline
Added 2nd Ultimate for another high damage skill. This skill is probably better for nest runs compared to Demolition but damages lower. In GDN, the timing for DPS is critical and normally is between 40-60 seconds only. Use skyline is better than Demolition due to demolition's long casting time. I rather use those timing to cast 4-5 more skills.

ShootingStar:

SplashShot:
Fire bullets into 5 direction for wide area damages. Try to use at closer distance or big target for maximum damages.
PingPong EX:
Really IMBA stats added to pingpong, with additional damages and 2 more jumps.

Alfredo’s Beam:
Highest damage skill for Academic, but the 4 direction beams only work best when your alfredo crowded by mobs. (This skill had change to AOE type around Alfredo in Korea, hope we can get this update too. It will become trademark skill for Shooting Star beside PingPong EX.)

Current Skill Plates:
Damage Transition - reduce CD
PingPong - 20% more damages
Chemical Missle- increase de-buff effects
Wax - reduce CD

Equipment:
50S Brave Set (Ladder Set)

Accessories:
Necklace: Sea Dragon
Earring: Windswept with Vitality stats (Pot: Agi, Vit, HP)
Rings: Sea Dragon 2x

Suffixes:
Helm - Wind
Shirt - Wind
Pants - Wind
Glove - Lire
Boots - Wind
Weapon - Wind
Sub-weapon - Destruction
