Critter Camp Comes Out With a Bang for the iOS

A new mobile game app created by a team of Pinoy misfits of the local game development industry has just been launched and is now wreaking havoc on iPhone screens.

Ever since the rise in popularity of monster trainer games like Pokemon and Monster Rancher, many developers have sought to follow in their wake. At first glance, Critter Camp seems to be just another one of those games, going on a series of quests to level up and what not. What sets it apart however, is how you build up your critters’ stats.

Mini Games

Critter Camp introduces four different mini games – The Pit, Tracks, Gym and Library, which would give your critter different stat attributes.

Filipino Ingenuity

Designed by a team of crazy Filipino developers and artists, the game boasts of high quality graphics and exciting gameplay. Players would certainly enjoy their journey from realm to realm with eye-catching backgrounds and critters ranging from cute and cuddly to cool and vicious.

Marvin Apacible, lead game designer and the “brains” behind the game, says one of his many inspirations was Monster Rancher when he first thought of making Critter Camp. But he didn’t want it to be just another run-of-the-mill free-to-play monster trainer game and sought to make the gameplay experience for users more enjoyable and challenging. Adding the latest trends in mobile games like social integration and energy mechanics, users can play with their Facebook friends and help each other out.

Unlike most free-to-play games though, players can’t just grind to make their critters stronger. Players are given a limited time to train their critters for stat points so you would have to think twice before randomly using them.

The team has also started to develop a PvP system, which would add a whole new level of excitement for players. Mentally stimulating, exhilarating gameplay and breathtaking art… What more can you ask for? Truly something Filipinos can be proud of.

Critter Camp is a free-to-play mobile game for iOS. Download it now at the App Store! Soon to be released on Android.
